My little girl started at Broughton Cottage in November at 1 years old. I don’t have another nursery to compare it to but I’m really happy with our choice. They really helped with the settling in process and it didn’t take long before she didn’t look back and can’t get in the door quick enough!! They spend so much time outside in the garden and she always comes home smiling. Everyday the menu and their activities are different! We’re really happy with it!

My son is also at Broughton. Been there since they opened and has loved it the whole way through. Agree with Charlotte on the food and the activities. They recently had some duck eggs they had to look after that hatched. The class looked after them for a bit and the ducks were then returned to the farm they came from. They regularly grow their own food and the staff are always thinking of new and exciting things for the kids to do and learn.

Both my boys are at Broughton cottage and We think it’s amazing. We moved my older son to Broughton from another nursery and are so happy with the care. The food is amazing, they do so many activities etc- in fact, when I asked what they did today, he said “mummy I did every single thing today”!

A great result (the Ofsted report) for all the staff’s hard work. My children loved/love the nursery and by far the best they’ve been to, and they’ve attended two others in the town.
My daughter often shares stories of Cindy’s travels which she has shared with them which I think is lovely. Please tell her that we appreciate her inspiring tales which definitely expand the horizons of little ones minds!

I hope you are well and the inspection went ok last week. I’m sorry that we didn’t get a chance to speak to one of the inspectors to let them know what a fantastic job we think you all do but hopefully you can pass on our feedback! My son has settled in so well to Acorns and is very happy and loves coming to nursery. All the team are fantastic but a special shout out to Marnie, Susan, Karen and Chloe who he absolutely adores and have a real connection with my son and clearly love what they do and show a real passion for the children. The activities that you do with my son are endless and we love your outdoor ethos and trips out, it is clearly really stimulating him. Keep up the amazing work.

My daughter, is currently in Acorns. She started about 6 weeks ago and attends 2 days a week. John and the team have been great at welcoming us to the nursery.
Karen is my daughter’s key worker and has been so supportive during this period of transition for her. Last week for instance, she was clearly feeling a lot more comfortable in her environment and Karen was so happy to tell me when I picked her up.
I welcome the open evenings that the nursery have, as I’m able to spend a bit longer talking to the staff about how my daughter is getting on and settling into nursery.

We have had such a positive experience of Broughton, we really can’t praise the staff highly enough. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Broughton to anyone – and have done.
The staff work incredibly hard to know the children well and to find activities and games that suit their particular learning style, interest areas etc. I feel that the approach taken is very tailored and I have no idea how they are able to manage this across multiple children but they do a fantastic job!
Every single staff member (and we know pretty much all of them now) is hard working, enthusiastic, positive and engaging with the children. The room leaders put in so much effort and their skills in coaching and training of more junior staff is also apparent. Notably for us, Karen, Zoe, Monika and Charlotte are fantastic at their jobs and really bring their teams along with them.
We receive thorough feedback on both our children’s progress and it’s been lovely to see inside the classrooms at the recent parents’ evenings again. The nursery has a really homely feel, and the children both seem happy whilst at nursery. They both eat well and love the food, and I am happy they are so well fed in terms of variety and nutrition.
My older child is sometimes reluctant to go to nursery in the morning as he wants to stay at home with us (he doesn’t really understand working from home!) but always skips out at the end of the day really happy and full of stories about what he’s done.
John and Michelle are both brilliant leaders and engage really well with the parents. John makes me feel like his whole purpose is to make the nursery experience as easy as possible for working parents, which is so appreciated. Michelle appears to know every single thing that goes on, and seems totally and effortlessly in control of everything whilst being completely focussed on the best possible outcomes for each child! I have no idea how she manages it!
We are so glad our children are at Broughton (and so glad we moved our older son here from a different nursery) – it’s been a great decision for our whole family. Thank you so much to all the team – you all work so very hard and we really do appreciate it.

My son joined Broughton Cottage last September and it has been a fantastic experience ever since. He regularly tells me about the different things he has done during the day on our journey home, and looks forward to going every week. During collection in the evenings the team are brilliant about sharing what they have done and any concerns they might have, it is lovely that we get to see the same faces as it feels we have a good relationship with the staff and nursery. My husband and I are very confident in the support our son receives, something that was further cemented in a recent open evening when we got to see his room following the COVID restrictions.

Thank you very much for the detailed report and astute observations of H’s development. We are very pleased how he has progressed during his time at Broughton Cottage and he continues to surprise us by sharing the interesting things he’s learnt at nursery, like discussing the planets, or randomly performing meditation yoga and saying ‘’Namaste’’. He really enjoys his time at nursery and always speaks very highly of all the staff and really loves Paige.

I would like to take this opportunity to send a big, heartfelt, thank you to Broughton Cottage Nursery and all its staff. Firstly, for the accommodating, co-operative and obliging attitude which seems embedded in the Nursery and all its staff. As we all know, this has been a very disruptive and unsettling time for everyone. Personally, from our family’s perspective, we had all our childcare options slashed in one fell swoop. During this time, nothing has been too much effort for Broughton Cottage Nursery and its staff. If we were to look for a silver lining during this terrible time, for us it would certainly be finding you guys. As I know you are aware, previously, my son cried whenever I went to work and had to drop him off either at Granny’s, Pre-school, or his friends. This always left me with a heavy heart and was certainly not the nicest of ways to start the day for either of us. However, Danny seems to have settled far quicker here and I am sure partly to do with your never-ending efforts. You have consistently gone the extra mile, always quick to spot any flicker of trepidation in my son’s (and possibly my) face and acting quickly, turning what could have been a potentially tearful situation into a fun and enjoyable one.

You may be aware of other childcare providers and what they have been doing during this time and how they have been preparing. My friends whose children attend else where have not been impressed by communications, rules, regs and attitudes to all the change and how the children will be looked after. In fact many are not sending the children back which shocked me initially but when they shared the plans with me I don’t blame them! So of course it has been easy for me continue to recommend your services!

If you are looking for a nursery, I highly recommend Broughton Cottage Day Nursery, in Dunton Green. It has just opened (under new management & with new Ofsted approval), it is freshly decorated and the huge outside space is a kid’s dream. My two girls have just started and really enjoy it. They’ve planted flowers in the garden, made bread, learned how to use an old school computer and eaten lovely home cooked food. Plus the usual painting, games and fun! They’re open 7.30-6.30 to allow for commuters, there’s lots of parking and the staff are so friendly. No affiliation, I just had to share how happy we are there.
